After wins in their first six league games of the season, Calgary Fire White missed the bus on Saturday, going down 2-1 against Southern Express.
The Calgary side took the lead in the first period after eleven minutes. Alessandra Imperato got in close, shot the puck and managed to force the rebound through the Express goalie, Devyn Amundson’s pads.
Quincey Williams hit the jets at 7:47 in the second period and surprised Fire White’s goalie, Madison Shenfield with her shot from the right faceoff circle.
Southern Express built up steam in the final period and Kendal Pierson put away the game-winning goal.
Despite the loss, Fire White remains on top of the southern division standings with fifteen points.
Final score: Calgary Fire White 1-2 Southern Express
Up next: Fire White travel to Blackie to face the Rocky Mountain Raiders on November 17.
