Fire Impact in season opener

The first game of the season for Calgary Fire White; a road trip to Lloydminster. But it was North Central Impact, not the Steelers as the home team in a weekend showcase of three hockey games in the Alberta Female Hockey League (Midget Elite). After a goalless first period, both teams got on the score sheet. Hannah Suto, wearing the “C” this season, connected two minutes in, assisted by Rylee Pennoyer. With five minutes remaining in the period, Reegan Broadbent equalized for the Leduc team with an attack down the right-wing and a low shot that beat Fire White goalie, Madison Shenfield.

Two minutes into the final period, Bex Alloway got the game-winning goal with a shot from the right faceoff circle that beat Impacts goalie blocker side.

Final score: North Central Impact 1-2 Calgary Fire White
