Outa Ontario and into Manitoba

Shell’s Smarter Driver Challenge: Day 8 (June 18, 2012)

Ontario is big and wide! Our third day of driving through the province began early. Calls went into the team rooms at 4:15 am and by 5:00 am we were on the road. The third refuelling on the trip came up for the competition VW Passat at the Shell service station in Terrace Bay. The Touaregs went  a bit further before taking on diesel at Thunder Bay. Thanks for the service, Kristie!

Some big storms hit us again (see photos) but only for short bursts before we headed over the provincial border to Manitoba. Great team driving effort to get us over 1,100 km in about 17 hours including stops. Tomorrow: Winnipeg to Medicine Hat (approx. 1038 km).

Smarter Driver Playlist Pick of the Day

Going through Thunder Bay today leaves me in no doubt that the pick is Bruce Springsteen’s Thunder Road. Hit it!
