It was a packed house at Calgary Rugby Park for the final Saturday of the regular season. Junior Boys XV were out playing as were the Boys and Girls in a big sevens tournament. Plus, the Saracens, Rams, Titans and other teams were there to partake in an excellent day of rugby.
On the main field, the Canucks senior side enjoyed their high noon encounter with Calgary Irish, shooting in eight tries. Captain Jake Bentley got a hattrick as did full-back Ruaraidh Smith plus tries by Hosam Mobarak and Gabriel Kajdy. Final score: Calgary Canucks 50-12.
On Field Two at two, the Irish struggled a tad against a mobile Division 2 Canucks side that notched up their own half-century of points. Final score: Calgary Canucks 56-14 Calgary Irish
The Alberta playoffs start next week.
