Day 4 at the Mac’s AAA Midget Tournament

The Cariboo Cougars were thrifty with their shots but created a two-goal lead after twenty minutes. In contrast, the Calgary Buffaloes were going shot-gun, pummeling the Cougars goalie, Marcus Allan.

The home side got their first goal exactly halfway through the second period, scored on a power play. The Cougars pushed further ahead just over three minutes later, short-handed with a shot from Hunter Floris out wide left that surprised the Buff’s goalie, Berk Berkeliev.

The Buff’s pulled back one when Cameron Sterling made a nice move down the left wing and across in front of the net. Two minutes later, Sam Anderson scored short-handed to settle things at 3-3 going into the interval. The Buffaloes mass shooting continued, scoring twice more to win the game, go top of their pool and send the former Mac’s Midget Champions back on their way home to Prince George, BC.

Final score Calgary Buffaloes 5-3 Cariboo Cougars.
