The Calgary White Hawks progressed to the final of the Alberta Hockey Bantam Female A Provincial Championships, presented by ATB Financial, this morning. Their win, 4-0 against their southern Alberta rivals gave them a game against St. Albert later in the day to decide on the Alberta champions.
Calgary’s first goal came halfway through the opening period, scored by Ella Kitchen, assisted by Jennifer Nixon and Carolyn Berze.

Ellen Thomas, the MVP of the game, scored the second goal unassisted just over two minutes into period two.

Just seconds before the buzzer, Jennifer Stadlweiser struck a fine shot from the boards on the blue line. A deflection by Shannon Roach was enough for the Okotoks goalie, Ellen Poelzer, to lose sight of the puck and it was 3-0 going into the final period.
