Silver take gold over White in Rocky Mountain final

Girls Hockey Calgary (GHC) Silver took the Bantam 1 banner in the Rocky Mountain Female Hockey League last night at Ernie Starr Arena. In a closely fought three-game competition against their close GHC rivals, the White Hawks, they put in two unanswered goals to win the series, 2-1.

The first goal came half-way through the first period, scored by Adria Lambert. Despite puck pressure from the White Hawks, the score remained the same going into the final period.

After just over a minute of play, Teah Workman scored Silver team’s second.  Heroics and gymnastics by the Silver’s goalie, Rebecca Boswell sealed up shop. Final score, 2:0.

Congratulations to the Silver team for a great end of season push. The White Hawks, who went undefeated to finish clear winners of the Rocky Mountain League, press on next week with a trip to Edmonton to compete in the Alberta Bantam Hockey Provincial Championships.
