African rugby made it big in Singapore today. Kenya’s 7s team put in an impressive six tries to beat Fiji, the current HSBC World Rugby 7s series leaders, by 30-7 to take the Cup. Collins Injera, shown here playing in their tight game against Fiji in Vancouver last month, got two of those tries and that earned him the Player of the Final Award.
Kenya’s win in Singapore puts them into 7th position with 85 points. Fiji are still the series leaders, eight points ahead of their nearest rivals, South Africa. Next stop Paris for Round 9 on May 14.
