Medals ready: Canucks win Calgary U18 rugby championships

It was the final five minutes of the game. The coaches made some honourable substitutions, making sure that all of the departing 18 year olds could be united, on pitch #1 at Calgary Rugby Park. A few more tackles, one last scrum and then, a celebration together as the final whistle blew. The Calgary Canucks had secured another Calgary City rugby Championships, for some of them the fourth in four seasons.

In a well-played, competitive game, the Canucks came out winners with five tries to one against the Okotoks Lions. Final score 33:7. Too bad, Alberta Rugby, that there isn’t a Provincial Championship this season.
